Stefan Hotnog (1920-1993)

Stefan Hotnog (1920-1993) is widely recognized as one of Romania's most accomplished contemporary painters. His formal training included the Academy of Fine Arts from Iasi, Romania that he graduated in 1945.

Since 1943 Stefan Hotnog paintings were part of several group and individual exhibitions in Iasi, Bacau, Botosani, Piatra-Neamt and Bucharest - Romania.

Landscapes, still lifes and portraits are the main themes that the artist has dealt with most frequently. He was primarily a watercolor painter force worthy follower of personalities like Max Arnold and Nutzi Acontz, however he also signed over 500 artworks in oil.

Stefan Hotnog paintings are part of museums and private collections throughout Europe and North-America.
